I got an older 372 that tried to trick me but that is beside the point. Good spark compression was 120. Needs new fuel lines so decided to throw new lines gasket, piston ring, just a decent go through. The base of the cylinder has a chunk out. No pieces in the crank area so guess it has been like this. Is it ok to refuse this cylinder. This is just going to be a glorified firewood saw. So just needs to run good and reliably.

I think some lower those walls in front of the transfers flush to the base on the 365/372 as part of porting anyway. Make sure there’s no crack or other damage to the cylinder. I’m guessing the damage was caused by something hitting the cylinder. Sounds like Jim has you covered.

I'd be hunting that missing chunk in the bottom end.....if unsure have someone check it over good ,that's been into some saws...

Ya I was looking pretty hard. There is a pretty big ding/ chunk out of the bottom of the case. But looks like it has been there a while.
I will inspect it some more to make sure it is not cracked.

Them chunks almost always get under the rod. Then bam cracked case ...and a hard to find air leak ,pour the case full of mix that will let you know quickly if hole knocked in bottom

You could easily blend that chip,I'd lower that on both sides a little anyway. Not many places for that chunk to hide but definitely do what Randy said.

Any damage to the piston?
The piston does not look bad. Used but not bad.. the saw is from a saw mill operation so has probably seen a few repairs.
I will definitely fill the crank area with fuel and see if it drains out. Plus will help wash it out. I really don't want to slit the case.
