Sad week. My friend Ron and family who own The chainsaw clinic which sells Husqvarna, Johnsred, Stihl, Honda, Toro. More than over 60 years in the saw business is closing down. He is clearing all his stock at rock bottom prices so I got this off of him.

Yeah, it sort of did. But even the XT's are now going to be sought after. Bear in mind that while we on this site know the difference between the OE and XT versions of the saw, 4 out of 5 guys just think a 372 is a 372. Some know "they made some kind of change" to it a few years ago, but they don't consider it at all significant.

I've got a couple xts never would i seek one out
unless it's a builder for a oe.

As a commercial use saw I would think one would choose the 50mm over the heavier 51.4....idk. Seems logical with a 24" bar. Almost all of those serious users modified the saw anyway for more power with a 28" or 32"

Redmax replaced the Jonsered name. Not all Huskys get the red treatment though.

The good old 372 is now officially NLA from Husky. System had been accepting orders the last couple months and posting way out ship dates. But all those orders are now canceled cause the saws aren't coming. Warehouse up here hasn't had any since Sept when I got my last order, which was the next to last order to be shipped. Got a tip at a meeting it might be my last chance, so got back to the store and did an order the next morning. So, whatever is in the field is it.

So for fun, we pulled out the price list from Jan, 1998 when the 371 and 365 were replacing most of the 200 series saws. The following saws were listed as "discontinued; while supplies last" :61, 246, 242XP, 254XP, 257, 262XP, 268, 272XP, 281xp. Sure would like to do one more order off that price list.

Ya I’ll take 1 of each in that all star list please. Trade you my NLA 372 for a 281...lol

On Johnsred web site they sell six saw models up to 56cc

Yes Mike. Part number is 503 691 271.

Pricey though at $94 vs $169 for the complete top end, cause Husky never lowered their piston prices along with the cylinder kits a couple years ago. Don't know of any aftermarket pistons that are single ring.

Yep Meteor makes the single ring 50mm piston, it's all I use, just order for a 371. Lucky for me I saw this coming and ordered like 8-10 of the XPW kits, although I sold quite a few when guys were offering crazy $$. I have been able to stockpile quite a few builders and parts saws also, guys in my area just aren't receptive to change and want nothing to do with the auto tune.

Redmax G7100 is the same as the jonsered 2172, or a better looking 372 xtorq if you will

Does the single ring 371 OEM piston use a 1.5mm ring like the meteor or 1.2mm like the 2 ring piston?

That always strikes me as a little funny. In the US and EU both companies pat themselves on the back and try and sell the notion of how "green" and environmentally concerned thety are. But in markets where tje rules don't apply, they happily sell 272's, 044's, 288,s. and such. Of course we'd happily buy them if we could. But we aren't selling two different stories.

They play to the umpires whistle that's for sure. Other brands do it too, Echo, Makita & others I'm sure. While I'm not against it cause you can take a 'saw holiday' to a country that sells 2series, 1201echo, 090 etc. But the hypocrisy is large.

EPA is the worlds biggest mafia, you have to pay them money. Bend over and they decide if it can be sold on the market, if not according to them than it’s trashed. They want to control everything. They are one reason product is being made elsewhere. Jobs going with the shift.
