White hair had some amusing comments.
On the first cut holy xxxx
Xxx damn this things a fxxxxxx hotrod lol
He only handed the saw to me to drop the tree's and he took it back to block them lol
It must have a touch more power than his 038 he bought new lol
He said he couldn't believe such a light saw has that kind of power lol
He's run a lot of 70's and 80s stihls and homelites.
I need to get him to run my 288s.
The one guy broke my stop switch somehow twisting it or something he's a stihl guy.
i have extras and the inner dog fastners came loose if you have these saw's it might pay to loctite these it the second time it's happened.

The color scheme here seems to riff heavily on Stihl's white/orange, but it sure looks pretty to me. I'd take one if I could get one, and at 82cc (or 79cc) or whatever it actually is, it'd be a hoot to compare to the 372xpw.

I'll start following this thread just in case these Aussie versions can make it state side. *Want*

Well, I did some reading, and apparently, importing non EPA certified engines is a big no-no... according to an article I read, you can get a fine of up to $37,500 per engine, that doesn't meet EPA certification... and on top of that, they will confiscate your shipment and send it back to the supplier... and on top of that, you might go to prison.

These 268/272 copies are not EPA certified. The SX82 is also not EPA certified.

Not sure I want to risk this... I'd like to avoid prison and heavy fines, and don't want to lose money by product being shipped back.

I can get a personal use exemption, but it only allows for three or fewer items.

I think I can get the Aussie SX82... read an article that stated EPA style regulations were going to be put in place in 2015...

Just did that.

Also hatched an idea to get these into the US... think they will pass customs as parts saws? I.E. mostly disassembled?

@Poleman
Rich thank you very much
I will run it as soon as i can before and after comparison .
I'll try to record it if i can with new full chisel chain i have several new ones.
If i can get the vid to work i will run it against my other 50mm Chinese 372.
Both have very similar ported mahle cylinders one 268 single ring piston one double ring 372 piston.
I blew my right knee out recently i'll find a hard dead ash to test it on when i can walk better lol.
Can't wait to try it.20170816_150325.jpg

poleman, do you mod carbs for the XTorq 372's as well?

Reason I ask is I have an XTorq and wonder if there is more to be had just from the carb. But, I can't do anything to the saw right now, still under warranty.

Sleeper, these carbs are my specialty and I haven't messed with the WJ's on the x-torque's. I've done others with success but mostly the Zama twin jets.

All i can say is damn lol
I fine tuned you're carb in two year seasoned poplar it didn't even bog it.
I pushed hard to get it to stall it's very impressive how it has gained torque.
You have these figured out the throttle response is excellent as well.
Is there an issue with cutting the red limiter tab off it's to large to fit in the adjustment housing.
Thank you again a modded carb is new to me.
Now you're making me find more twin jet's lol

Glad it helped!!!! No problem with taking off the red limiter, just may be harder to get a screwdriver on the head.
Thanks for the report!!!:ARMS1:

That's what we need to find is another Chinese supplier of the twin jets. The last one I saw advertised in the Oz Ebay was A$14.85 a couple of years ago. There has to be a source someplace. Perhaps using the old Husky part number for the 365 carb may turn up a source. Or, perhaps a Dolmar part number.

If the new 79cc jug turns out to be a good runner, then adding a modded twin jet and a muffler mod to a cheap Chinese clone 365 could be a good addition to the stable - a 'loaner saw' with balls.

Yes Dolly carbs are like that one! That was a 12 from a 7900. Just a little.burr work on the choke connection to open it to fit the Husky choke.
