357 carb on 346xp

I was wondering if anybody had any good pics of how to properly install the 357 carb and intake on a 346. Also is there a screw type clamp that will fit the 346boot?

You put it on the same as you would the 346 carb, I like the 390 carb clamp myself.

Mine has the full 357 intake tract..boot, filter, etc. Some have had (small) clearance issues with the linkage in the carb box floor I hear. @rattler did mine awhile back and as far as I know and see it’s a straight bolt on. I think some have used the 346 boot and filter with no issues but I think the larger bore 357 is preferable

part # for the clamp 505283302, used them on 4 saws with no issues.

I used the original boot but removed the support ring inside. The filter elbow is 357.

I guess since I need a new boot I should just get a 357 boot too. Does it have the same clamp as the 346 or will the 390 clamp work on the 357 boot too.

The wonky steel OEM clamp fits a 346 or a 357. The screw type 390 or 372OE will fit either as well.

I like to run the 346 boot with everything else 357 including the expansion ring as it fits the cylinder best. I also use the metal clamp from Husqvarna.

Found an Oetiker clamp used for a CV boot that fit perfect. No more leak. I'd prefer a screw clamp, but this worked good and it has way more tension than the OEM clamp.
