Well, my 254 got the refresh it needed today thanks to Josh. I had some "customer" work to finish up. She was sucking a little air due to a crooked crank seal. Piston was just starting to transfer, but it was caught soon enough that the cylinder only needed a few minutes worth of cleanup to being it back. Fired up and ran well.

    Thanks Josh

Now let's get that 390 in some wood. Get the 394 back together?

I contacted the seller about this saw, He won't give me a straight answer if its a oem cylinder/piston. He won't give me any numbers from the cylinder either. He also doesn't need to take the muffler off to take a picture of the cylinder/piston since
" No I will not pull the muffler I think my brain can tell me the condition of the piston and cylinder !!" his exact words. I was gonna contact a member here to ask for some info about this year saw (Possible cylinders for this serial number)but I get a bad vibe from this seller. I've asked twice if cylinder was oem but he won't say yes or no. I figure I would be better off waiting for one to show up in classifieds or put up a WTB thread. I think I'd rather have a 246 anyway tho, I'm looking for a limber/ light little ripper.

If you are interested in a 262XP here is a 1990 model that even has the rare 6 bolt muffler. If it is all original, it has the KS cylinder and HDA87 carb. Those red label 262's don't pop up very often.

Very much looking forward to trying the 390! :)

There's a husky 41 air injection on my local craigs list for 85 bucks. Seller claims saw runs, I guess I'll do some research on the 41 to see what there all about.

That’s unfortunate. So he’s either hiding something or is just an arrogant AHole.

The 346 whooping already happened. Pitting 254 against 357 this time. I’ve got some ground to make up.
