I've seen some 600 volt motors in Canada.Every wash I put in up there ordered 600 volt blowers.15 horse blowers fed with number 10s pretty efficient

208 is the only one with a high leg. Reading phase to ground would read 120 on 2 phases and 208 on the other. You have to be very careful with this setup because of the high leg. I've seen guys wire In a receptacle and land the braker on the high leg. This will smoke any appliances you plug into it very quickly. Most three phase motors can be wired low voltage (208/240) or high voltage (480). I'm not sure about regulations on tapping out of 3 phase power for your home but balancing the load would be very difficult without using the high leg. @paragonbuilder could probably answer more questions.

3 phase with a wild leg uses 2 120 transformer and 1 120/240 for lighting 1 meter

3 phase 480 volt 4 wires uses 3 same transformers but u have to have cts and pts so the meter can measure it

I do metering for a power company

You have to ask the power company whats available or you have to pay to get the 3 phase set installed entrance meter base is sometimes supplied by company and breaker panel by you

I'm not talking pole power. We have 13800 coming from the poles stepped down to 2400 switchgears that gets stepped down from there. No pole transformer is gonna handle the kva we use.

Either way the end result is the same. It depends on the final transformer configuration as to what you have for power. The higher the voltage coming in, the easier it is to supply it. But it gets more dangerous as well...

U still hav to meter it and go to your swith gear all depends on voltage and load

I did almost everyday my first year at the chemical plant I was at. Alot of large motors there that run of 2400v. Here unless we are working on switchgear then it's usually 480v and lower.

Just have to find out how the power is going to handle demand readings in home some charge some dont
When they ask what it is for they want all kinds of documentation why u need 3 phase in a home

2 monthes ago we changed 2 138000 volt cts on a customer service i hate being near the meter when on your hair stands up on your neck and arms and where are 25 ft away
