D-handle goodness

Ran it today, nothing video worthy.
I need to rebuild the carb.

It goes from pig rich 4 stroking that only cleans up when you lean on it real good to a lean bog with nothing in between.
Idles all day, but dies out of the cut or after a good piss rev.

Can anybody point me toward the proper carb kit? It’s a Tilly.

The brass screw the arrow points to on the carb is the flood limiter or governor. To disable it, you unscrew it and insert a thin piece of gasket material to block the hole and tighten the brass screw back down on it. Aluminum cans are a good readily available material.

Thanks Man. The fuel governor is under the brass plug on your carb. At wot, fuel is pulled through to govern top end.

It may not be working correctly and running your top end all over the place. Pull the brass plug and seal off the opening to the carb throat. I have found the correct size welsh plugs to work for this.

I do have a bar adapter, should have ran the 36” on the 298 as well.
