So we got dad's old 288 out the other day and ended up needing to replace a fuel line. Back up and running like a top. When he was putting the bar back on, i saw that there was TONS of room between the bar and the studs. Like alot of room. We didn't have a stihl around to see if it was a stihl mount bar and the paint and laser etching was rubbed off (oregon bar) so I went to the bar stash and pulled out a husky 24" bar that I have a few of. When we tried to put it on the saw, its was just a fudge too small to go the whole way up on the studs and the tensioner hole was too high. I know for a fact that these bars fit on my 562. So what all do these bars fit?
And what bar do I need for the 288? I'm not big on bar mount numbers and such so I figured you guys could simplify it a bit.
I have heard there are different husky bars for pro saws vs homeowner saws and ive also heard that there are different ones for older saws. I've never had this issue with a bar before mainly because all I use is stihl or new huskys. So what is it. Age or Type
