This one came to me last week and Im good onprojects so down the road it goes.

Piston has wear marks but no scoring/transfer I can see. Its blowing right at 140 psi. It popped on a prime but the starter rope broke trying to tug it to run. Has decomp jug and 120 carb. Bearings feel good.

I cleaned it enough to see what it needs. Heres what i found.

-fuel line is toast
-rear av spring is broken or weak
-needs chain tensioner
-brake band is broken
-clutch cover broken on bottom edge
-starter cord needs replaced
-switch wire to coil needs attention

Did not find any stripped holes or other damage. I will include a decent 20" 3/8 .058 husky bar and roughly half used chain. Also will send a new Caber ring.

Price is $240 to your door in lower US. Other locales we can discuss shipping. Im pretty firm on price, I will throw it on shelf for later if it doesnt sell. Thanks

It's called a seal collar #503544201
Goes around the manifold between the carb and cylinder. Seals of the carb box between the bulkhead and engine cover.
$6.41 from the dealer.

I might have to break out a couple 262's and post them for the people that missed out.

I'll check it out John. Haven't had time to get into it but will later this week. Gotta tear off cylinder anyway to put on new ring.

Those collars that fit around the intake are all crumbling in the older 262's. I started to clean one the other day to see if I could epoxy it together and it crumbled under a toothbrush's pressure with a light degreaser. So I ordered 4, they will be discontinued when the stocks run out.... This one was heated when an airleak developed at the gasket between the intake and the KS cylinder. It was the oldest HD87 262 I have ever come across.
