Ok, so i havent gotten anywhere with my 2252 that wont run WOT, idles only and not that well at that. The local dealer must not be as up on the autotune stuff. I did get them to do a master reboot. Made no change.

Is there anybody on here that has the software to do whats needed? I know nothing of how they work all i know is it doesnt. Turns my stomach to have someone work on my equipment as ive been an auto tech for 15 years, but i need a ringer on this one.

Can you swap parts off the 545 to figure out the problem?

I think I have an extra 545/550 ignition module that you can have. I'm not sure if it would help your current problem but it might send the right signal to the carb.

Ugh guess i should do my due diligence as far as air leaks go.Funny thing is the longer it runs and hotter it gets, the faster it will run. Ive got maybe 8-9k but as soon as you got WOT it bogs down and quits. But it will always restart.

Id like to know exactly how the system works. Its probably rudimentary in comparison to the vehicle systems im used to. But ive not ever been able to find how exactly it calculates fuel mixtures. I assume these autotune carbs can be kitted same as old school ones?

It doesn't. Basically it just tries to lean out the mixture while watching RPM's. When the RPM rises it pumps a little more fuel to keep it from leaning out too far. Essentially just keeps adding fuel which is why AT saws can run with air leaks that would kill a standard carbed saw.

Ok that makes sense. So its similar to the old carbs that govern using air speed in the venturi to open a check valve. Its esentially doing the same thing only watching actual engine rpm, if engine rpm gets past a threshold it lets alittle more fuel in.

Just a FYI, If you buy a new carb you can use your electonic module from your old carb since it has the updates already on it. Easy way to change carbs without visiting the dealer to program the new carb.
I did this recently on 562 and worked fine.

@Tor says these go through flywheel side seals pretty regularly. If it's a autotune problem Bob (spike60) was a huge help when I replaced the carb on my 562.

Before you even consider to swap parts, get out the reading from the AT first, information from that reading will tell you alot whats going on with your 545.
There is at least 4-5 different coils and 3-4 carbs, they has to be matched, you can swap around but if you're changing a coil that was different then yours you have to flash the carb, and also the same work has to be done if your changing your carb.
I rather do the AT reading before I even consider a preasure/vacuum test
