I widened the exhaust port a little bit on that jug today. Cleaned up the intake some but didn't make any major changes. I'm going to open the bottom of the transfers (spike special) but I'm not sure how much to take off??

48mm?? hmm

seems most prefer 50 over the 52mm.

Wonder if the 48 is the strongest in this chassis without going really wild.?

I don't raise that area flat to the base. I just go a little after cutting the base.

I usually go 1/8" up or real close. You don't want to lose too much case compression for velocity.

The pic angle didn't show it, but mine is real lose to 1/8" above the base as suggested.

Sorry for the derail

Im prolly wrong Mike but i thought i remember reading a thread Scott did where he showed that part on the jug cut way up to the bottom of the window on a larger husky? 385 maybe?

If thats true then do the larger bore quad huskies not suffer as much from lower case compreasion?

I've raised them, and added windows to a 372. I didn't care for it after that. It worked better for cookies but slower in big wood.

The 50 is the shizz if all things are set up around it.
But the 65 cc can easily be made an awesome runner.
With good torque and good manners.

I don't personally a 365/ 2165 saw. But I will say that I have run some really mean ones. I remember a couple Stumpy did that turned out nice and a few other builders as well. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out Mike. Maybe even run it, I've still yet to meet you in person.

You might run the saw or a 365 from me before you meet me. Sounds like I'll be busy after the 25th of this month.
