Looks not bad. The cylinder was cleaned up and used. Says it runs good. Comes with some spare parts. I would use it for milling. I was waiting to find to find a 394 or 395 but can’t find much around here. The guy is asking $400 Canadian. Should I hold out for a 395? Reliability, parts availability and being more user friendly have me thinking maybe I should. The 2100 is just so cool. I know cylinders are NLA so that sucks.

Hold out for a 394/395, a 2100 is probably a good milling saw but I think you answered your own question that 2100 parts support is getting thin these days and the more modern saw is more operator friendly.

394/395. I had a 2101. Didnt do it for me. the mmws 395 I had is hands down the most impressive saw I have ever used. It's at the very top of my list to replace.

A big + 1 on that. After cutting with my 395 MMWS, I got rid of my ported 088 as this Husky has just as much power and is 5 lbs lighter and smoother. I too had 3 2100's and the 395 is miles ahead of one of those.

2100 are fun to run even stock, not high rpm but endless torque. Just keeps chugging away like a old tractor when you lean on it. Maybe if the OP had a carcass or two to pick parts from and a good runner then I’d say keep the 2100. But if you only have one of something that’s hard to get parts for then stick with something modern if your gonna work it hard.

I don't use mine that much but it does have the power I'll say that .Big carb, floods easy .Choke it only one pull usually fires on two or three after that .Pull it over twice with the choke on you'll about pull your arm out of the socket until it runs .,About like rope starting a Harley .

But both of you can. Parts can be had, for a one saw show daily user but a 395. But I have both, and still use my 2101 frequently in big wood. So by no means is it obsolete. Very useful and functional even today. Good for tree work, milling, firewood. Little heavy for everyday all day falling, but still useful for it all.

I have a 2100 and a 394xp. the 394/395 is the more practical saw for sure. But there is something about the 2100 that puts a poop eating grin on your face. One of my favourite saws to just listen to it idle. I have slowly accrued parts, they arnt impossible to come by, but it can be a treasure hunt,

As said about, 400 canadian pesos is a deal on it if it starts and runs decent
