Damn, i had to blow it up to see that! I have torn the whole truck apart and missed that!

Yeah, the nice coiled part going up to the master, I'm talking the janky azz loop that looks like some tweaker did it by the crossmember!
I freely admit I did something similar on my old rotted beater plow truck that soon after went for scrap.

I stripped two trucks to the frame in a week. I guess i should get off my couch for your evening entertainment Mike?

LOL!:baloon:

Lots of thinking and measuring going on now. About ready to cut the front off both frames:eek:

On a good note, its metal. You can cut twice, still be wrong and just weld the gap!

Ok Mike, i got the right side frame front welded to the other frame. I welded a piece of angle to the bumper mount of the old frame, marked it, then cut it off. Cut the front off the new frame and welded the new front on. Im not a welder. I am not very good welding verticaly either but i seem to have done a good job. Smacked it pretty good with a hammer and no cracks!

Real good for a flux core welder I think.

I agree. The burn in is fine, and penetration looks good. I wouldn't sweat it. I doubt anyone is going to crawl under and inspect the frame. (I say that with no sarcasm intended)
If this were my truck I'd be just fine with the weld. Thanks for posting your progress. You are moving on with this project.

Thanks, it all about to slow to all the tedious little stuff now. Going through the front diff, degreasing and scaling parts to be blasted and painted. Will be slow on progress untill i get the frame and parts back from the blasters.
