Got this 99 cr ignition today, want to test this vs the 04 ignition I have, liked the 04 on the previous motor. I also have a 98, but I might trade it for an 02, I am building an 01 motor for a friend and installing a 330 kit that I had,and is going in his 02. I also have an 01 on my cr500 I could try. I have a 99 on my red r and love it, so I will keep it for backup/spares. I sold my spare 98 ignition to a needy friend.

Those are badazz bikes. How did you get it street legal?
Ok, so I bought the roller with a street legal title, it had documents from new, was originally purchased in California and street legal since new! Cost $5600 new with street legal kit. You could still get it street legal in California, so I just took the to the dmv and got my plates, had to have it inspected but it passed! I have a few cr500 motors so that was fairly easy, I want to redue it, want to go dark red front and white back panels or go for the “93” look all pink and white! Lol

No CEO cylinder?

I haven’t run one of those, I have a pretty killer combo, that I run, the 4mm stroker the right port timing and port shape, squish and dome. I modify everything in the kit, it’s no offense to esr but there is a lot left on the table performance wise, they have great products for a good price, but it is cookie cutter, and I understand why! They just can’t build tight tolerances that make a big difference!

I also ordered it with the lowest port timing possible, the 7, I do my own porting, and I wish it was lower, could get a better shape, and match, the sleeve to the port better, as is I will end up having the piston out of the hole and cut more into the dome to get the numbers I want, and he added 2mm to the deck for the 4mm stroke!

Thought that was why Eddie built the builders cylinders.

I priced it out, and once you order everything you need, the build kits is not much less that a finished cylinder, I am happy with what he sends, it’s not tons of work to get right, there was also no support for the old head, so I had to order a new head and dome, I mighy have saved $40 for the builder kit

Did some measurements and calculations to see were the cylinder came as and starting to come up with a plan, I wanted clean transfer roofs that are flat as possible so a did a little grinding last night
This is how they came, The sleeve actually bevels downward into the cylinder, don’t like that

Still have a bunch of work left, but was able to clean that up nicely, And the only removed approximately half a millimeter of material
