So @p61 western Encouraged me to do a build thread...so here we go! Lol

So this all started when I thought I blew an o-ring on my well used 350 big bore r...I thought it was just an o-ring until I pulled the head and and found I pulled a stud!
    E623C2B9-9366-4517-9D62-B0A077F279CC.jpeg 5161F0A9-2272-4A56-B75B-C443EC7C9DDA.jpeg
It was a second hand jug and already had an oversized stud! So what to do, after considering my options it was best to get a new cylinder. So I decided to order one...made the call, and the shop that makes them said it would be two week! I was hoping they had it in stock, but then that got me thinking....that would get me a chance to freshen up the whole bike! Well that has snowballed into a full build! Lol

So I decided to tear the whole bike down!

And before I took it to the powdercoater I degreased everything and got it all cleaned up! 1E735D50-F37C-4FB8-8492-069D7BF6B588.jpeg 9E098141-0A34-4B7C-87B6-BF968366A7A9.jpeg

In the process of powdercoating and parts rebuilding came some other issues, do I rebuild or upgrade....so I decided to upgrade some parts... 6139DA99-338F-4F26-814C-6D1BB8089762.jpeg
I decided to do plus 3” wider each side 1” forward a-arms and
    84A36F73-8898-487C-98B9-5A7FD838BD1E.jpeg
Run 06+ trx450r brakes and spindles

Then I had to decide on shocks....my original thoughts were fully adjustable trx450 shocks and rebuilt and revalve/respiring the stock rear shock for the +4” extended swingarm I had been saving.
After pricing that out and still having used shocks up front, I decided to go custom elka shocks with full adjustments front and back, the new pricing isn’t too bad!

Then I called up the company that sells the big bore cylinder(it was over the 2 weeks) and they explained it was going to be another two week because they had relocated from California to Oregon, (awesome because I am in Oregon) but kinda suck because I had to wait! So it got me thinking again(this can be bad) maybe I should stroke it +4mm, so I called him back and modified my cylinder order to accommodate my new whim! Now I ordered w 4mm crank and had my friend tig the crank pin!

And because of the delays I decided to develop my stock cylinders 4mm stroker combo spare motor. F4EB9C4D-FDB8-4BA4-9D92-9622E8DFA271.jpeg 7754330C-D40F-4DC6-9429-F8D9395A22DC.jpeg 804C0A21-FCCD-4257-A5A8-CEB1C3EBDE05.jpeg CBD36CB5-A23D-48FE-AF90-A8B51106A5F0.jpeg
Got the numbers close to what I wanted, but I had previously lifted the transfers for the sock stroke, so I have a few other cylinders to play with(excited to experiment) so that will be fun!

As a side not this motor and the the big bore will also run 2004 cr250 ignition with the throttle position sensor carb, that let the ignition run 60+ timing maps based on throttle position! Pretty cool!

My garage is full with customers bikes, Hoping to have one out of here today! So I can start building out the frame. Got my 1-1/8 bar clamps on with some old bars for mock up, and couldn’t resist putting the plastic on front 8FB8BC3B-2E2E-404C-8A06-8D3E51560C62.jpeg 5E9DDFCD-8A72-4D23-8399-5824D8C795D2.jpeg B1C43E03-21AA-4D58-B475-34FCF166CAE6.jpeg

Love the frame parked in the living room. Its starting to look like my house! Mike made me do a build thread on my truck too! Waiting to get my frame back from the blaster/painter.

Loved seeing your bike pics in the random thread!

Trying to decide on a seat cover, stock red with fourtrax on the side and Honda on the back, or an all black one, I also want the 88-89 seat foam, it’s an 1-1/2 taller and even more in the front middle. And not sure about the tank cover either....that depends on the seat...black seat and carbon fiber cover would look cool, my red one is like that, or a more traditional red cover and red seat cover would look good too, or I could do a white tank cover and red seat....idk! Lol

I didn't think I would like the carbon fiber look, but it grew on me. The original seat would look cool as well.

I like the red seat and tank cover. It looks really sharp with the white plastics and red frame.

Soory Steve....moved the frame outside, it’s fun doing them in the living room!
