I have read that some people have changed out the rubber buffers in a 181 for spring. I am curious if they are from a 288 and if it helps the vibes enough to change them out or not.

There's a couple threads here that you can search for. One is called 'All Things 288' and the other one escapes me right now. Pretty much the same posters in each.

The rubber v spring discussion was pretty good. The idea of a 'combo' configuration was even bantered about ..
