Jason, since it is a Red Lever 044 I would love to know the SN, the jug details (ie KS w 3 +), and what you think of the factory porting & timing. Thanks.

I think there was a "sweet spot" for 044s, and that saw likely is in it. Saw a couple of strong stock 044s at GTG, one a Red Lever 10, and one a Red Lever 12. The Red Lever 044s are the later 10 mm and early 12 mm saws.

These cylinders like a case pocket knife?
The more X the better it is?View attachment 40315
More x marks means more 372 huskies it defeated .

Less x/+ marks the older it is ,i had one with 2 marks on it once .044 cylinders 10mm 012.jpg
Ks on left ,malhe 10mm on right has the spark plug in it .044 cylinders 10mm 010.jpg 044 cylinders 10mm 003.jpg 044 cylinders 10mm 002.jpg
Here is an early 10mm i had with 1 + mark

Hard to tell ,but i think the transfers in the ks are fatter than the mahle ones ,and the intake opening looks larger also .

I'm porting it now.
The exhaust port has been fondled,it's been raised but I don't know how much
It's gotta be raised more because it's flat
But I'll be letting the cylinder down so we'll see where it hits.
Stock it 102 123 72 with a 025 squish

If that meteor box is for this saw ,i think the pin bearing spacing on those is the width of a 12mm saw ,and when use on a 10 mm rod the pin bearing can walk out more than it should .Jeremy did a thread on them once .
It is and I noticed that.
It didn't have a pin at all so I had to make one from a 562 pin. Lol

I'm looking for a wider bearing or I'll build spacers.
I have a oem piston somewhere but I've not located it as of yet.
