Gonna port this fat bottom girl tonight and tomorrow,it's @trooney saw he sold then got back broke,I'm going to try and help him out by getting her back up to shape and ported so she can be sold to recoup the money from the other deal.
Thanks to @Definitive Dave for donating the oem piston kit.
I already had it running well so we'll see if there's any power in her big ass.

I got my exhaust down to 99.
I did a bit of mild directional work in the uppers and left the lowers stock as I didnt want to butcher the OEM cylinder.

.025 squish gave me 175 psi cold on new cabers

It goes really well too!

From memory I took about 40 to 50 off the base and about 30 from the band.
I didn't check stock compression.

I ended up with 99/124/71 I think

I left the timing at that and just widened the ports a touch

It goes good but doesn't feel as "free" like my other ported saws.
I will be interested to see what your experienced hand does with the intake and uppers as I think they are holding mine back

Widening the intake can get you in trouble, very easy to get a ring end in it.

If anything you have to much blowdown but that may not be it.
They don't feel like a 064 or 066.

Did you advance the ignition?

I'm grinding on this old girl right now

More squaring out the base a bit

I went with the theory that it's easier to take a bit more out than put it back in

Compression has come up from 175 to 180 after 3 tanks of fuel

Took 20 off the key as well as fitting the 1308 unlimited coil.

1305 or 1306 I think
There was an earlier unlimited coil that had a seperate ignition module that 1303 or there abouts

I sent you a link to where vince has fitted an 066 coil quite easily
