I got into this thing and next thing I know it's after 3am. Lol
I decided on the 394/395 piston and put it on a little weight loss program. I was able to leave the skirt at full length by relieving a little area on the edges of the crankcase. 20161010_032842.jpg

Here's the cylinder with the holes offset and sized tight to the bolts in place for perfect alignment. 20161010_032945.jpg
Tomorrow I'll relieve a little bit of area on the case so it'll sit down in place.
I plan on using a 3mm spacer gasket to start off with to see how it runs, then go from there. I'd hate to miss something by immediately lowering the intake.

There are a couple reasons why I'm not using a 395 cylinder. For one I'm only using what I have on hand which makes the decision easy for me. Then there's the intake difference. Although the 395 is set up for a rubber boot from the factory, I think the 394 intake can be made to be larger than on the 395.

Will the 66 case handle a huge intake though? Or will you just end up with a lot of spit back?

Yeah that's what it will likely be though I would rather deal with all the beginning stage work with something a little easier to handle. I'm also kinda hoping to have a good sleeper that piped saws won't see coming so I might mod an 064 muffler to fit.

Another late night in the books.
It's ready to bolt down and start putting together. There's a few more cylinder fin edges to clip so the 064 top cover fits and I still need to put a few minutes into shaping the intake. 20161011_032653.jpg 20161011_032753.jpg 20161011_032818.jpg

And I also decided to use the 1128 poly flywheel. 20161011_033051.jpg

Sorry to be taking so long on this thing. I've been dikking around the shop looking for the right material for a spacer and figured I'd make use of a bad cylinder by chopping off the base and using it. Only thing is I blew it on the first cut by cutting it way too thick and now I have to cut it again without the rest of the jug to hang on to.20161013_161128.jpg
