With a head and studs the bolting down would be real easy. Might have to weld up the exhaust flange to tap muffler bolts or use a 385 muffler and washers over the tubes to hold it on.
I'm thinking 394 muffler with a welded on flange. Not entirely sure yet.

Am curious ,how many man hours go into r&d on something like this build ? Doing it for a living a guy could go broke real fast if do too many ?
It depends on how much machining and welding needs done on any build. I've spent more time rebuilding some stock saws than I've spent on building a modded saw.
But this isn't a build for a work saw. This is going to be a build for the 6 cube racing class so it may be the only one I build.
I make my living running my shop on a normal scale and I work on these things in between jobs.

Curious how your planning on running a boot with this setup?
I'm going to shape it like I did this one so I can use any boot I want.2016-05-12 01.35.57.jpg

I haven't ground on it yet. or are you talking about stock shape?
The angle that the boot has to hook on the cylinder once bolted on.

Doesn't the intake stick straight out instead of a upward angle?
Might be hard to get one clamp on without some cutting and welding.
A 084 neck welded in on the right angle would be groovey

A aftermarket 056 piston would probably be better than a 394 or 5 piston, there so heavy and long.
Depending on lots of things but a 66 bb piston could work.
An 066 bb piston with caber rings would be the best option for the least amount of modding. it may actually be a perfect fit with a gasket. The 394's taller 4.5mm difference allows you to grind the squish band about 1/8 inch wider and the fatter gasket that would be necessary may help increase case volume and raise the intake floor if it is needed.

It has an upward angle too, just not as steep. It'll be close to a perfect match when I'm done reshaping it.

I've got an 088 intake flange that I cut off sitting on my bench for a rainy day
