Been accumulating these parts for the last year or so and figured a little build was in order.

Gonna try to keep this build completely NOS aside from the jug and slug which have been previously ported and have about 30 minutes on them.

Some of the parts stacked on the table ready to go.

Cases came with bearings already in place. Thought a little heat would help the crank out a little.

Put a heat gun about 16 inches away form the case not directly on the bearings. Meanwhile the crank is in the freezer chillin

little Loctite 518 on the gasket and then placed it on the case... flywheel side dropped right into the bearing. Ended up pulling the clutch side in with the tool alternating the torx screws. Went together fairly easy.

I’m starting a 064 build as well. I will be watching closely to learn all I can. Not my first Stihl but my first 064. Would you mind if I asked what’s your budget?

064s are pretty easy and straight forward to work on. Only thing I’m not looking forward to is the oil pump line.

I’m not sure on the budget honestly. I bought a new part whenever they were available as long as they weren’t priced too ridiculously. I’d say I have at least $1000 into this saw probably a little more

About the oil line, I know this would not be appropriate for this build but wouldn’t Tygon work for a occasional use saw?
