Just picked this saw up and was wondering what i have ser # 135735119
My father brought a 046 brand new in 1996 and it got passed down to me, I’ll check it’s serial number when I get home and let you know. That could give you a rough idea of the model

I'm not sure of the exact year, but I can tell you that is an early 046, and likely has a D combustion chamber.

Not sure when they went from D to Hemi, but is was around #s starting with 138 or 139. I had an 046 that started with 140 and it was a Hemi chamber.

The early D's generally had better port timing, and the Magnums came from the factory with a DP muffler cover.

Does you saw have that?

Also, welcome to the site! Where in Central NY are you?

Nice, they are good running saws! I was supposed to get one, but the guy sold it to someone else after verbally committing to sell it to me (I was in the last day of tax season, just needed 24 hrs to pick it up).

Hope to get to see it sometime!

So that's just a little North in the Hudson corridor.

You lucky dog! Any pics? Let us know how it runs.

I believe the dp factory saws were only made in the first year of production.

I saved the original body work, and just cleaned it up a little, well maybe a lot

Obviously the tank handle has been replaced (flippy caps), and likely the plastics also, but looks real nice! I happen to prefer the flippy cap gas tanks.

Likely an AM tank, you can see the fuel easily, I prefer that also.

I thought 046’s had standard oil caps not floppy ones like the pic?

For some reason, I did not even notice that. Saw the ripples on the edge, and just knew it was a screw cap!

I apologise for the late reply, I just checked and it’s 136336093. So I’m guessing yours is very early. Like mustangmike said, great saw!
