I'm thinking about building one, but it will be a couple of months until I order one, if I do.
I believe Walt built one. I know Matt built one @Mattyo
He has a 5 segment series on YouTube under Matthew Olson.

From memory. I probably will forget some stuff.

Missing parts:
1) Screw for chain catcher
2) Spring and stiffiner for oil line
3) Muffler spacer NLA from Stihl but available on Ebay.
4) He also mentioned. Missing piece of rubber between carb and filter.
5) part of the chainbrake was there but defective.
6) Brake band pin missing. He made one.

Issues:
1) Flywheel rubbed on recoil till it wore in.
2) Had to inlarge bottom muffler holes. They didn't line up.
3) Inverted bevels on ports. Needed to be rebeveled.
4) Metal insert for intake was too loose. Sent wrong one.
5) One of the bearings had to be driven in farther. The one on the oil pump side.
6) Wrist pin was way to loose in piston. Be careful because the 038 kits they sent the wrong wrist pins on some.
I think that's it.

Well I already have the kit and have started assembly. I can add comments to your list as of right now:

Missing Parts:
2.Oil line I haven't looked at but I ordered OEM as this will be a commercial use unit..
3.Muffler spacer was only on the 034. This is an MS360 kit... no spacer needed, just the included heat shield.
4.Not that far yet.. should be in the rubber kit.
5.Not assembled yet but preliminary inspection says it'll be ok.
6.I'm pretty sure mine is there

Issues:
2.I've had that issues with OEM mufflers. Hyway muffler I got the other day was the same too. It has more to do with mufflers in general and would hesitate to call it an "issue"
3.This one is beveled and I think would run fine, but I touch the bevels up on most AM jugs these days anyways.
5.My bearings were fine.
6.I'm running a Meteor in this saw. I can check the FarmerTec piston pin.

Sounds like one person had an early kit or just a junky one. This one is pretty decent from what I've seen so far. I should have beveled the crank as it pulled the oil pump side seal apart coming through. Other than that no issues yet. Waiting on my Meteor piston and OEM oil line kit before I go much further.

I also want to point out that I ordered this kit through HL. Yes I can get it cheaper from Huztl directly but if I have and issue I am VERY confident that the team at HL will make it right. Worth the price difference and the fact I had it in 3 days from order... worth some money too. Customer will be happy to have it up and going instead of waiting for 3-4 weeks for delivery then assembly.

I'll try to update this as I assemble but I rarely slow down when working. At a minimum I'll post at the completion.

Just a thought, I have a an original 036, and I got an am muff for the 036
And I had to make a spacer up, the am muff was 4mm lower.

So somthing an't right.....I guess you'll find out if you need a spacer or not..;)

Well... I did snap some pictures and realized this throat hole needs a little love. I've got burs for that...

Bevels were OK but I did touch them up a little. No concerns there now.

That's intresting, the shape of the throat, I've never taken my carb or boot off.
I'm guessing mine will need a be of TLC..:)

Well that is a very poor casting of what most have as a round hole. I've never seen one this bad actually.

Needs a spacer. Holes line up though on the bottom.

So doing lots of reading, it seems the jug provided in the "parts kit" is an 034 style jug with 036 bore. From what I am reading the 034 had a shorter distance from the cylinder wall to the face of the flange.

I wonder if this is just these low end jugs or if other AM jugs take the same approach? Anyone know for sure if Meteor jugs or Hyway etc are 034 spec or 036 spec?

You probably already found this out.
One of the Meteor kit ads on ebay says; You need to use a spacer with the 034 saws.

I was looking at the ipl of the 034 and the 036, only the 034 shows a spacer,

My old muff was a pea shooter, which is only shown on the 034 ipl, the muff I got was AM and said it was for the 034/036 but the back part was shorter by about 4mm

I'm starting to think my 036 pro could be a 034, or a 034 super. But it does have a decomp button and Iirc the break flag has 036 1996
I guess someone could have dressed it up with the wrong cover, after all it is 21/22 yrs old and will have had a few battles

I will have to investigate at some point, I'm not sure how to be sure, I guess I will be reading drf256 1125 thread again
Cheers
