It's a German saw serial # starts with a 1 and I'm probably like you ? I like the west German tags ?

Fair enough, if it's for a work saw i personally wouldn't care. But that's just me. If I come across one I'll let you know. Or I'll go trade my cousin his is west German one.

That's one thing I'm trying to find out. Everybody says 034 S was only made in Germany. I have 3 supers with about the same serial numbers that say made in Virginia Beach on the starter. There is one on eBay too. Called VB, they don't have any records that go back that far. Stihls timeline, however, states that 034, 034S, 021, and 023 were produced in VB starting in '90. But without an affirmative I don't know if they are rebadged 034

Its a work saw alright, but I'm not in the business. Just like things to be original, thats all. Not that it makes any difference, just me..

The one I've got starts with a 2, so do some other members. I also have a West German one that starts with a one. But don't know if the 2 is a rebadged one.

Thought 1 was Usa and 2,3 and 4 German. New us ones start with a 5 I heard because they ran out of numbers in old serial number set. But not sure

Nope, 1 Germany, 2 USA. You are correct about the numbering of 5 I believe
