Ive got customers 031 here.
I haven't even taken it out of the back of my vehicle yet to take a look.
He tells me it will run okay until it's warm then seems to starve for fuel. I'm not asking you guys to diagnose the issue (but you can if you want).

I'd like to go through the fuel system and check stuff out. Inspect intake boot, impulse hose etc. A basic check-up. Looking for any obvious issues before I rule it has an ignition failure.

My question is, how do I get the handle frame off? Looks like it needs to be removed to check or replace impulse and/or fuel hose.
I've never torn into one of these things.
Pictures would be extremely helpful if you think I need them or if you have them.
I do have a copy of the shop manual.

Regards
Jeremy

Condenser is failing. Switch it over to an electric ignition.
My assumption as well.
But like I said, I haven't even put it on the bench yet. I try to avoid the older "square bodied" STIHLs like the plague.

What's involved with the swap?

You've got to remove the top handle, carb cover, carb, choke control, bottom AV mounts, and the top AV mount to get the handle off. The fuel line goes from the tank/starter housing underneath the front cover. The impulse is behind the rear handle cover and it needs to be remived to inspect.

I have a new crank for a 441 if you still need one.
