I didn't find many vids on porting or pipes for 025/MS250's. Mostly "how to" vids. No love for the clam-jammers?

No love for clammy jammy. dug out a 025 jug to start with. No pipe on this jug. The pipe will be better on the 250 imo.

Better on the 250? MS250? They're the same p&c, no?

I have an MS251 which is my baseline for the 025. I'm trying to make the 025 cut better/faster than the 251. Stock vs. stock, the 251 makes the 025 feel like the chain is on backwards.

I figured this would put the intake in check..

Another stock cylinder to show size difference for others who might be interested..

I put a filter on it and re-tuned to see what's up with it. The 290 filter sits nice and level, but the cover won't fit. One from an 044 looks like it can be modded up to fit and look halfway decent.

That filter is one funny looking sumbitch, LOL. I think, with a little luck, the 044 cover might resemble a max flow on an 046.

It may not win any races, but it sure is such a simple saw to mod that it makes it a little fun to do.
I wish I had some better race quality wood to play with, this stuff I'm cutting is half petrified from dead stand curing.

Jack up the ignition timing 4-6 degrees and run it again. You need softer wood for sure to get it loaded down. Wider chain maybe?

Wonder whether you could swap out some ms261/362 or ms391 springs with the ms 251 to improve/stiffen up the AV your not happy with. Probably not the biggest issue at this point though.

I'd like to see that
I watched a 180 take on the winner of a 200t shootout a couple years ago. The 180 mopped the floor. There were about a half a dozen do-overs and the outcome never changed. My camera took a dump on me or it would be on video.

The chain is for a smaller race saw. I didn't have anything small enough to run that chain for testing so I built this 025 for that purpose. Lol
It's over carbed right now. That 461 carb is hogged out and has been sitting on my bench for a while now waiting to go on my 461. I grabbed it instead of taking the extra time to set up another HD carb. I'm going to swap that out sometime soon.

Toss a 029 carb on it.
Drop the drags .003
