020T AV handle mounts

Hi Guys,

The AV mount on the outside of the handle of my 020T broke in half, and the top of the handle started lifting up. How easy are these to replace? My repair/shop skills are minimal.

You first need to determine if you have the old 020.

Either one,020 AV top handle or 020T you just take the screw out of the handle and unscrew the shock mount out with a pair of pliers. 5 minutes more or less .

Finding new ones may be the tricky part, I haven't checked their availability.

Flea bay 12-16 bucks .They look the same Av is 1114-790-9605 ,020 t 1114-790-9600 .Assuming he's talking about the handle annular buffer .

Have they started making chinese copies of those?

It would not surprise me if they did .Those I posted were supposed to be OEM . I'd imagine though you could still get them through a dealer and knowing flea bay they might be cheaper .

Couple years ago I got the throttle cable for some little Stihl,011-012 or some such thing .They had the dang thing in stock right on the dealers shelf .You never know,depends on the dealer I guess .

Now dealers certainly are not the same .The one I deal with is 15 miles away and one of the best in my experience .I've got one two miles away I don't do business with .

My dealer orders parts twice a week from Cincinnati which is 120 miles away .I seldom have to wait much over 4 or 5 days before I get them .

Looks like this one. So, part 22 in that diagram sheared off. I'm not seeing where the other ones are though, and not understanding how/why the entire handle assembly is separating from the body.

Ah; ok. 25 and 18? So, I just remove those two screws and slide the new mounts in? Quick and easy? Anything else to it?

There is a long screw in the middle. Is the rubber ripped? Can you put up a pic or two?

The rubber on the side mount is ripped through. Can't see the rubber on the top two mounts, but the handle is separated from the body about 3/4" or so. I'll take a pic tomorrow.

Depends on the age of the IPL .Mine list parts number 20 and 26 .1129 790 9900 and 1129 790 9902 .They sell them in sets on flea bay .Knock offs about 8-9 bucks oem about 20 .

Either way, whichever ipl ref. numbers. The part numbers still come out the same.
The only possible mix up would be for this variation..

I noticed that also on the IPL of the 020 rear handle .I've never seen that variation . I don't think they were very popular plus they would have been real costly for those who wanted a small displacement rear handle saw .
