For anyone searching here, I ended up replacing the fuel pickup filter and it runs perfect! I found the ignition connector was soaked in gas which caused the arcing/zapping. Mint now.

I'm seeing lots of fuel filter kits available for the T282 but not the T270. Are they the same? (same fuel tank grommet, and carb?)

Ok I'll order one. The fuel lines are pretty hard as well. I forgot to mention that sometimes I get zapped when it's running which also made me think faulty coil/ground..

This trimmer runs perfect but then cycles medium to low RPM while I try to rev it up. I cleaned the carb passages and valve, etc and it runs perfect for another minute and begins cycling again like its starving for fuel. I have not replaced the fuel tank pickup filter. Is that a good place to...
