    Drying timber for tropical climate?

Got a pretty spastic commission lined up. 18 seater single slab dinning table. The kicker is though, will be milling and kiln drying to export to a tropical country. Due to the increased humidity I figure that I will have to kiln to a higher moisture content that for a piece staying here in...

    ppg & teak

Good post. :clapclap: We have stuff like the blackboy/grass tree (Xanthorrheoa). Absolutely lethally carsonegenic. Not my work, just sample pictures. Don't know if it holds true for other species, but to work safely with this, need to soak in water for a week before turning.

Anyone able to ID this saw?

+1 Mutley I like these saws, unfortunately the australian distributor isn't bringing them in anymore :( Still stock available if you hunt around though. This was the saw I sudgested might be good on your turbo sawmill, torque like a saw of 30 yrs back, with the best filtration of any big saw...

    No longer a milling virgin.

Saws bigger than you mate. Tip on the frame for the alaskan. Make a couple more cross braces out of the same ali, will stiffen it up and help with balancing is cut is abit smaller.

    Love my roots :)

Quick root update:risas3: Still haven't hit the bandsaw yet, have just blasted this one off though. Salvaged when a farmer got his fire break bulldozed. *Note stylish shadow on pic* Blasted Closeup, looks to have a really tight grain.

    ECHO Echo, Echo, Echo

A quick question fella's. How unobtainium would a coil and a complete starter assembly be for a 900evl?

Redback 18", 120V Lithium, Cordless (Battery) Chainsaw

Thank you! Really enjoyed reading it. Couple off quick questions. How does the construction of the saw feel? For example over here we have a victor model that is based on the Briggs Battery system. Overly bulky and horrible plastic construction. 2ndly, have you compared it to either offerings...

    Band saw mill questions

Haven't used my bandsaw mill in a while. From personal experience. Bandsaw for traditional style wood working projects, chainsaw mill for craft wood style projects. Another tip, get yourself a seriously heavy duty pressure washer. Clean down the logs and either your blade or chain will thank you :)

    Todays snag

If a trailer that belonged to you would be covered, find out what clause in your policy invalidates a borrowed trailer. If there is none, contact your equivalent of a financial services ombudsmen. So if you drop a tree on a house with a borrowed saw your public liability insurance wouldn't...

Accurate crosscuts with an Alaskan mill

http://www.woodturningvideosplus.com/wax-emulsion.html A good bit of info here. Also tried cutting at a 45 for an oval top? Good compromise if the customer accepts it.

    Guide rails

My main rails are made out of rectangular 1x2 ali tubing. Can buy this in 20 feet lengths here. Also tim is dead right when that support brace. Always have to balance on it.
