Cast iron is brittle but not very hard, no idea what kind of magic stuff they use in new zeeland.
But if you weld it the carbon will form carbides around the welds wich are hard as diamonds.
Happened to an abused flywheel I tries to true up, the carbide inserts chipped as soon as they touched...
Thats what a taper fit means, should be no movement. It doesnt sound like they fit and not very reassuring.
I think the germans should be able to make two tapers mate.
Finished this old jonsered, dont know what model.
Had an old partner bar i moded to fit.
New fuel line, fuel filter, carb kit, and had to blow out the oil pump and lines to get it going.
Nice got a gb bar aswell, only 24" and only clamped at the powerhead.
Wanted a light and "nimble" setup.
For my bigger mill I use normal 3/8 bar and chain. Tried different types, skip, chisel, semi, never made a big different.
