Interesting that the hyway and the duke pistons have the wee lug on the pin boss but not the cutout for removing those sthil wrist pin retaining clips (the ones without the ears) but don’t have the cut half moon in those lugs.
Just saw this thread and watching everyone write here is like theropy for the soul - good to know there’s still good humans out there. Hoping for the best Greg (and family)
Cal me shallow but I can’t get over the appearance. If it made power you’d still have to hide it somehow within an original muffler similar to putting a paper bag over the other half’s head!
Here is a link to where poleman posted his Zamia mods on AS. Wrong site I know but still good info there.

Fell down the rabbit hole thinking to improve my bodged mufflers and read 113 pages of the show us your muffler mods thread before I came back here to necro this thread with some queries. This is the link as it covers a lot that could be put in this thread...
Buckins vids are long and I don't normally watch them but this pooped up when I was gogling and has an interesting looking rams horn muffler. Looks similar to a couple already seen in this thread being a straight pipe straight from the cylinder split into to outlets through bends, but has extra...
Couldn’t find any words but did find theses pics I took of some 52mm pistons. All joined by pins so can see crown height and skirt length relative to pin location. The 180-480cd piston, a windowed 272, generic am piston and The pop up piston from the hyway cylinder and piston kit. Looking at...
Not off hand sorry. Will have a search thua weekend to see if I wrote anything down. It seemed like a good idea at the time as i dont have a way to lathe the cylinder base although i could sand the squish band manually. the 180cd piston in addition to a higher pin to crown height had...
Hi Adam. Shame I didn’t see this earlier. If you stihl wanted to try a 268 windowed piston, i have a farmertec one in the garage that has a small pop up you could try. Went well in the cylinder I was using but I have now trying a big bore with a pop up husky 180 piston as a bit of an...
Glad no one was watching this one - would have been locked up for chainsaw abuse. Big old willow with rotten dirty core. Put the 24” china bar and chain back on to take punishment and it did the job well aside from finishing dull enough that it wouldn’t cut sausage.
Chainsaw goes well enough...
Been taking down some willows (poplars next) for a mate over past weekends - horrible trees, leaning all over the show and had the odd spot of rot for extra surprise. Chinese saw handled it well with 24 inch bar. It’s not a light sabre but certainly does the job.
Now has been in bits a few...
I just joined so I could thank the lads in this thread! I am just a novice who cuts for firewood for self and couple of the extended family for what totals to about a month each year. Been using a trusty ms260 with mm for years but have found I am tackling bugger stuff recently. whilst the...
