Are there any replacement air filters for the 10-10S that are better than the OEM flocked ones? Those flocked ones don't seem to be all that great. If not, what are some good replacements to the OEM ones?

I got the carb kit in and got the 10-10S back up and running. I ran a tank of gas through it. It runs great and the cap no longer leaks either!

awesome, thanks! I just went out to the garage and fixed it, as I had 10 or so of those brand new Sten duckbill valves from back when I was playing around with some Homelite Bandits. The old valve was just a black pile of mush.

I dunno, this is what I do when I put a new chain on. In fact, I just did it last night on a new X Cut chain I just put on my new XS 550XP! I don't like how brand new chains cut out of the box.

Sounds like he's working with a dealer. Claiming factory warranty on a ported saw is questionable to me........

I'm wondering if he's a "contact" and the work is being done by somebody else? I did some looking and it seems he's more into fishing than chainsaws. He also was just elected to town chair. The whole "saws are unbeatable" thing rubs me the wrong way...

Yeah, I got to use it on single digit temps and I like it. It's not as thick as the old recipe TSC stuff was in cold temps, so pouring it was easier. It was very tacky though. Temp doesn't seem to affect it as much.

He's also doing my 550XP MKII. I'm going to be running a 16" 0.325 with a 8T. I use it on stuff 12-15" and under only.

I see you are an Amsoil dealer, have you tried their bar oil? I have a 5 gallon pail of it coming. I think once any bar oil warms up, it becomes more fluid and will get into the rivots and stay there due to tack. I don't think the more expensive stuff is almost always thicker just by chance.

LOL, no issue with the saw. Went back to thicker stuff and it's fine. When I say it was leaking, I mean just reving it out of the wood. I was doing it because I just replaced the nose sprocket and fully cleaned the bar. I wanted to get the oil back in the bar before using it so I was running...

I bought 5 gallons of Mystic when it was on sale in late fall and that stuff is like water. Zero tack. :mad: I can't run my oiler wide open as it just drinks the thin stuff compared to the TSC I was running. I ran my 346 for a couple minutes after I replaced the sprocket nose on my Tsumura...
