Pics of my chain sharpening results

I've always noticed that with the RM and PMM chains from Stihl, and the RS feed much better for me.

Pics of my chain sharpening results

Really helpful to see the differences, thanks. I definitely have some chains I can work on that don't want to self feed and have very little hook.

I can't stand safety rakers. Annoys the heck out of me whenever I use my ms180 with it's pmm chain. When you guys say hook, you mean cut deeper into the belly of the tooth to make more of a "cresting wave"?

Why don't more people run PS3 chain instead of 325 on 50CC saws?

I love the 33rs on my 462, was curious if I could get a similar feel on the 261. I like your idea of half life chains for more speed, maybe I'll stick with the .325 for now. Or get myself an 066 :)

Why don't more people run PS3 chain instead of 325 on 50CC saws?

I'm curious what length bar my 261 will pull well with moving from .325 on a 20" up to 3/8.

    MS462 gas cap leaking

Thanks, will try these. I assume they're compatible with the 462 tank? Description is a bit lacking in detail.

MS 462 latest from BC West Coast.

The av in generally starts feeling pretty soft on this saw. Nice for handling, a little concerned for longevity.

    MS462 gas cap leaking

Funny thing this week I fix a leaking gas tank on one saw now my 462 has started seeping from the gas cap. I'm not too familiar with these newer style caps but I assume the vent is built into them. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Is it the warmer weather building too much pressure? Are they...

    The bench vise

Man I have vise envy. Don't hate, I have a tekton because I don't have a lot of space in my shop and it was the best cheap one I found. Honestly I have a lot of tekton tools and they tend to serve me really well especially for their price.

MS 462 latest from BC West Coast.

I'm interested. Been working mine hard out here on the Olympic peninsula, finally got a wrap put on about a month ago, hard to tell how it would make things worse. Keep us posted.

Firewood thread!!! Let's see what you got!!!!

After years of thinking the only way to split was with an axe, I finally got myself a splitter. Have about 30 cords to work through this season, a good bit of which is incredibly dense and twisted pine and incredibly dense madrone. Sure I'll have pics at some point :)

MTronic diagnostics / ecm failure symptoms

I heard somewhere that mtronic takes some number of cuts from cold to calibrate itself? I've adapted my habits with the 462 to leave the saw idling more often when I'm moving around or prepping cuts whereas before I would tend to shut it down between cuts.
