I can't stand safety rakers. Annoys the heck out of me whenever I use my ms180 with it's pmm chain.
When you guys say hook, you mean cut deeper into the belly of the tooth to make more of a "cresting wave"?
I love the 33rs on my 462, was curious if I could get a similar feel on the 261. I like your idea of half life chains for more speed, maybe I'll stick with the .325 for now. Or get myself an 066 :)
I dunno man, it's so twisted and heavy and I'm going to have to burn all my clothes from the amount of sap :D
My time with pine up until now has largely been enjoyable...
Funny thing this week I fix a leaking gas tank on one saw now my 462 has started seeping from the gas cap.
I'm not too familiar with these newer style caps but I assume the vent is built into them. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Is it the warmer weather building too much pressure? Are they...
Man I have vise envy. Don't hate, I have a tekton because I don't have a lot of space in my shop and it was the best cheap one I found.
Honestly I have a lot of tekton tools and they tend to serve me really well especially for their price.
I'm interested. Been working mine hard out here on the Olympic peninsula, finally got a wrap put on about a month ago, hard to tell how it would make things worse.
Keep us posted.
After years of thinking the only way to split was with an axe, I finally got myself a splitter. Have about 30 cords to work through this season, a good bit of which is incredibly dense and twisted pine and incredibly dense madrone.
Sure I'll have pics at some point :)
I heard somewhere that mtronic takes some number of cuts from cold to calibrate itself?
I've adapted my habits with the 462 to leave the saw idling more often when I'm moving around or prepping cuts whereas before I would tend to shut it down between cuts.
