New CS-352 tuning and possible muffler mod info

The issue is I loaned it, it came back singing a different tune, I dont know the reason for that, I was just puzzled at how it went from taking three pulls on choke to only Two, given the weather is now colder it should be the other way round, no big deal, and its idle was a little off, so I...

New CS-352 tuning and possible muffler mod info

I have had 6 or 7 saws in Three years, I bought some to do jobs that are priced, and when the jobs are done and my wood is cut, I sell them on when they are still nice and clean, or trade them in for what ever I need, I don't keep stuff laying around, lots of reasons, borrowers sanctioned or...

    Some nice Locust

That x15 is two foot long and over 3.3 lbs, way too big to take up a tree to use for nipping off small branches like an inch or so in diameter, I need something to use in one hand in confined space while I use the other hand for balance and grip. I would like to the man who uses a framing...

New CS-352 tuning and possible muffler mod info

Yes, I know it releases the fast idle. It still runs well, other than a little jumpy on the idle, I have decided to pay no attention to the slight change in choking, It cuts fine.

New Husqvarna 550xp MK-2 or older version MS 261-CM

Am up in Donegal, I think the Stihl would be my choice with what I know so far, but I am not buying the older model with the newer version being out elsewhere, its like taking a step backwards.

New Husqvarna 550xp MK-2 or older version MS 261-CM

Indeed, changed times, too many people just in it for themselves.

New Husqvarna 550xp MK-2 or older version MS 261-CM

There seems to be no 550 MK2 saw sold yet near me, they only came in this week, and I would say people will be shy enough after the problems with the previous generation 550. And no GTG here, not many people employed in the forestry would care to show others their weapons of choice, they...

New Husqvarna 550xp MK-2 or older version MS 261-CM

I used xp in the small echo, then noted it was for 55cc and up, maybe this is what was causing my issues, with always a slight difference in tune, this oil would probably be better suited to larger saws, I was going to up the oil ration but decided to leave well be, it certainly got enough.

New Husqvarna 550xp MK-2 or older version MS 261-CM

The Stihl is only available in the older version, no revision 2 to be had locally, but if people were having more success with the version 2 Stihl, then I would seriously consider looking farther afield to get one, would be easier if Stihl would ship this stuff, instead of having to call in person.

New Husqvarna 550xp MK-2 or older version MS 261-CM

Well am not interested in *s-word, only peoples opinions. Am sure @Mastermind or some of the modders may have some valuable information regarding the new 550 mk2, did he port one, did he dig into one to see what is good, or even bad, this is the kind of information people like to know, its about...

New Husqvarna 550xp MK-2 or older version MS 261-CM

Well I planned on buying a 50cc saw, and this plan is being brought forward as a result of my CS 352 experience, that saw has me puzzled in how it is so easily effected by weather, altitude and may be even mix oil used. I feel if a cloud comes over or you put it behind your back it changes tune...

New CS-352 tuning and possible muffler mod info

Ok, had this 352 going very well, gave it to someone to use, a few days ago I started it up, it started after two pulls on choke, thought this was odd as I had used for a week and it started after three pulls on choke, dumped out their fuel, added my own, left saw over night, today was the...

    Some nice Locust

Monster, rather you than me, or may be am missing something, all I get is small ash, full of knots, which is probably a lot tougher to split, that bigger stuff might be not much harder to handle. Small stoves here too, so we cut the rings half the hight you do, thats double the swinging.

    Some nice Locust

Agreed, good exercise. Nice to get a Gransfors, I opted for an fiskars x27, have a hultafors hatchet that I like too, looking for a small hatchet now to put on a belt, for taking out small branches, probably go fiskars x7 just because its light to swing up a tree. I like the wooden handle gear...

    Some nice Locust

Every time I see a pile of wood and a hatchet it brings back memories of the huge stacks I had to split every day as a kid, I do my best now to let others swing the hatchet.

    porting video series

I thought I knew how much work was involved in porting, but seeing it happen, there is a lot of scope for making a complete mess of things, tree monkey, you are a skillful patient and knowledgeable man. I can see how the work you do can transform a saw, giving power that the manufacturers must...

What saw would replace the Husqvarna 346

Ok, I see there was the OE and the NE with the differing power output. Where then does the ,new 545 mk 2 fit in, it seems to have the same power as the NE 346, but no XP designation, does that make it a non pro saw.

What saw would replace the Husqvarna 346

Whats the nearest pro saw to the 346 Husqvarna currently make, was the Jonsered 2153 it's red cousin. I never had a 346, and see references to the 346 being 46cc others say 50cc, confusing. Would the Stihl 241 have the same capability as the 346.

    Husqvara 545 MK2 information

Thanks hsell Glad I asked about the 545, seems Stihl are not sitting still. I looked at the Two saws in your picture, and can see quite a few differences, have noted them for my next trip to the saw shop, the shop in question does a website, but no mention of a version 2. And now for a curve...
