The power improvement sounds really interesting, but to do it I'd be dropping more $ than I paid for the saw.
For the amount of use I'll give it i can't justify the investment. When I need more I'll pull out one of the 036Pro's.
Like to have a Stihl 400 as a bigger saw but again can't justify...
So, what's the difference between the 4910 and the 4920? Actual improvement? I'm just starting down the path with my 4910, like it so far after a couple tanks but haven't made any mods as yet.
If you're fond of the FG2, maybe have some replacement bushings made (I'd get a couple, setup would be the biggest cost). The FG2 is still sold in Europe I believe so a member there might be able to help with parts.
Granberg or Tecomac bar mounts are a similar option.
One of my 036's suddenly has a gas leak. I haven't had time to try to pinpoint where as yet. Any common leakage sites I should be looking at?
Looks like the tank is part of a handle assembly if that's the issue. How expensive are those? Hard to replace?
Thanks for any ideas.
My first was a Jonsereds 49SP bought in '81. We got an Echo 290 a couple years later as the wife wanted a saw she could run. That was it until the late '90s and took care of a lot of firewood for us. Last 20-25 years I've picked up "a few" more.
