Has Anyone Here Ever Bought A Saw From Kenny?

Holy crap. You all are something else! There's a tiny thorn in my side from 6-7 yrs ago that nags a bit but mostly I have forgotten about and suddenly all this. Wow. Thanks Randy. Thanks for sitting up when things don't look right and acting. He didn't just not do what he said he would do...

I can't really tell by the pics but I'm looking for a complete muffler.

    All Things 288XP

I see what you're saying about the throttle but on my unmolested 288 lite (4 springs in back) that hasn't been an issue. While it does feel a little more spongy, it is quite a bit smother than the 288's I have with 6 rubbers and the 7th mount. You really do feel them. I suppose it just comes...

    All Things 288XP

The 288 lite I have came from the factory with 4 springs in back and 2 rubber mounts up front. And, obviously, no 7th mount spring in front.

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

No, I haven't. I don't have a degree wheel but it seems like this would be a good opportunity to rig one up!

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

No decomp on my saw. My saw has an OEM 039 cylinder and had an OEM piston before I put the pop up in it. That was the 140 psi I noted above. Fruecrue's was at 168psi before the swap and it looks like an OEM cylinder in one of his pics. So they may vary a lot. I guess compression testers can vary...

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

Well, I ran a tank through my saw with the pop up yesterday and it felt strong (for what it is) and snappy. The stock compression was 140psi and now it's 148 psi so not a huge jump but I'll be interested to see if that climbs as the rings break in. I bet for the average fire wood cutting guy, if...

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

Mine started out as a clean 029 super that a guy I was working for gave me. It had a fried top end but I bought an excellent condition OEM 039 top end from a guy in the trading post here ( or maybe it was on AS). I've opened up the muffler and i'm running an ms 460 carb on it. I just got the...

    Husqvarna case splitter thread

Howdy Mike. Did you find what caused that piston to look so funny on top? I wonder what it would take to make that tool work on a 357xp which also has crank stuffers that the usual crank splitting tool doesn't work on.

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

Mine definitely had ears. Big ears that I trimmed back a bit.

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

I got my 039 pop-up! The piston looks nice. I'm not overly impressed with the piston pin circlips which measure .039" and seem soft while the oem circlips measure .032" and seem lighter and springier. They don't interchange obviously but that's fairly typical. I'm waiting on new crank seals...

    Carb rebuild questions

The kits usually don't come with the spring under the metering lever so don't toss yours out.

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

    Yes. Squish is at .035".

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

That's impressive. My oem 390 top end blows right at 140psi.

    MS390 / 039 pop up piston

I ordered one too. Just to play with and see if there's any noticeable difference.

Meteor piston/ cylinder kit for 026 issue

I've had the issue on a meteor 026 kit where , in the cylinder, where the combustion chamber and squish band meet, there is a bead or ridge that sticks down into the cylinder, past the squish band. I ended up sanding it out but you shouldn't have to do that on a brand new 'quality' top end.
