I remember the picture of everyone walking up the hill in a line with saws at Hosky's. It is not my picture. I think it is pre OPE. I am guessing 2015.
Been a busy week. Christmas lights are down. Almost burned house down with Christmas lights. Finally stickered the big white oak. Processed boiler wood at tree service and set a new shipping container.
Trying to put new brake lines to the rear of a 2004 Yukon XL. This is going to take awhile. Lots of rust and not much room. Finally got the spare tire removed. GM safety latch was stuck.
New cylinder is working great. I now have the power to use all of the 6 way wedge. Plus my return speed went from 8 sec to 6 seconds. Extend speed changed from 3 sec to 4 seconds. Still fast. Nice getting 6 pieces after one split.
Going to try a new size cylinder on one of the log splitters. 5" with 3.5" shaft. Was 4.5" 2.5" shaft.Stroke of 30 inches. Had to fab an end for the pusher.
Spent almost 4 hours getting 2.5" hitch out of truck. Made a 2" to 2.5" adapter to slide inside old one so I could pound it in to come out the front of hitch.
DNR says this was the third largest white oak in Iowa. Located in Pleasant Hill Iowa. Bottom was hollow. This is the top section. City wants it slabbed.
0.34" of rain Saturday night. Just a misting rain. Helped keep down the dust for a day. Almost finished splitting my white oak pile. Only 8 more rounds to finish the white oak. Still have a bur oak and ash pile to split.
Got rid of some more wood yesterday. Nate is trying out a used 20ft long dump trailer with 4 ft steel sides plus some wood on top. Scissor lift has two big hydraulic cylinders for dumping. Plus two big batteries. .
It is a very old 18" powermatic from a high school shop. I think 1960s. 5 hp 3 phase. I am using a variable frequency drive to run it off 220-240v. GoHz vfd.
