I live in western colorado and regularly cut in the 8,000' - 10,000' range. I don't own any A/T or M/T saws but I always assumed that they would have enough adjustment range to tune at these elevations. Does this apply to stock saws only? Have you run modified A/T M/T saws at high elevations?
Thank you Randy! That means a lot too me, I simply try to do the best job I possibly can. Having other people appreciate it is icing on the cake! I've learned a ton from this forum and hope to be able to give others a little inspiration if possible.
You are absolutely right! Surface finish is the least important feature, the only port I polish is the exhaust. I finish intake and transfer ports with a stone at low RPM to keep them from loading up. I believe that if you are going to promote yourself as a professional and invoice accordingly...
Thank you for the kind words! Yes, i definitely look to maximize compression while still maintaining long term reliability. Saws really struggle up here and an increase in compression and ignition timing help alot.
