Does anyone have experience with the AM clutch covers? Both these saws can us one... I bought one off eBay not realizing that it was shipping straight from China. $27.00 with free shipping. I would not recommend that one. It took 3 weeks to get here and once arrived It doesn’t fit right at all...
When my wife and I had our first son almost 4 years ago I got my first gun safe.... I only had a few rifles and pistols.
Now when I get home from work, I don’t ask her about the boxes on the porch left by the UPS truck, and she don’t ask me why the safe door doesn’t like to close anymore.....
Well a new lgx chain showed up on the porch last min tonight (the one on the saw was waisted) so I through it on and did a rough tune on the 6421 (when I got the saw it was waaaay to rich!). As is it seams to be a good strong saw. I can only imagine what it will be like with the bigger jug! From...
That’s what I plan on doin with the 6421. Will be gutting the muffler and 7910 oem top as you guys have recommended.
Question, is there much difference in a 7900 vs 7910 provide the 7910 has a good muffler and the higher coil?
I figure if they are as great of a saw as everyone says, at this point it would be worth keeping this way. There are enough good used ones out there as well to use and play with there’s no need to run a NIB. Plus they don’t make them any more so. It’s only 11 years old now. Not sure it will ever...
Because they are only in this condition once....
NIB with tool kit, bar, chain, paper work including warranty card.... never even had fuel in it... not to many left like this. They are the Holley grail saw to some and some day some one will want it this way. Not that I need to be the guy to...
Thanks for the tips. I was planning on opening up and gutting the muffler. I will definitely rebuild the carb. Thanks for the kit I need. And the filter recommendation. I have a 2-288’s on the bench now. Once the are done I will be moving on to this saw.
Hi guys. I’ve been wanting to run a Dolkita for a while now. I hear they are quit impressive.
I Already own a 2009 Dolmar 7900, but I don’t dare run or even try to start it....
So I’ve been on the hunt for a cheap, good condition saw to play with. I know that those 2 words don’t always go...
Some times even when we know better we still go ahead with a dump ideas. And usually, just like in this case, you get that gut feeling and your brain says stop right before something goes wrong... but you still go ahead anyway.
I did some weight reduction on the meteor as that was the piston going into the Mahle top end. You have to do A LOT! of grinding to get a piston down just a few grams!!! All in all I think it can out well. I didn’t change the window sizes at all as they where close to the oem piston. I didn’t...
I did some piston weight checks while waiting for the chuck as well. I weighed from left to right the cheap HL sale top end piston, KS, Mahle, and Meteor.I was a little surprised on the out come.
Meteor- 93g
Mahle- 87g
KS- 80g
HL piston- 78g
Made some progress while waiting for my 4-jaw chuck to show up. Got the other case put together and the Mahle top end on it. Had a small mishap with the T-allen while doing so....The Allen was new and the ball end snaps nice and tight into the bolt head. Not sure I over tighten or it was a bad...
I bought a nice 4-jaw off feebay for my lathe. I needed one for awhile now anyway. Now I can properly mount the next jug for a 2nd attempt at a squish band cut. Should be here in a week. In the mean time I put the saw together with the ported KS jug to see how it runs...just have a few small...
