Seems like they are almost the same saws. Never heard of studs loosening in the CS500 though.

I had a new Shindaiwa 490 here, which was the same as the 488 in the US, wish I never sold it. Is the 4910 a split case then, they have a new 4920 I think over in Europe and it is a clam shell.

Looks like they are cheapening them up, why else did they bring it out when they already had two 50cc saws that worked well.

Looking for a new walk behind lawn mower. The bad news first, am told Honda will no longer be producing Mowers from the end of 2023 / this year, this decision was not taken today or yesterday so I would imagine parts in stock will also have been reducing and do not want to go down that road...

If it is a low hour unit and working then its not overly expensive, Echo is just the better saw, and I would take it if there was a choice for similar money.

Nothing complicated there, modern saws with strato tech are not like the older ones. I hate AT and MT because it takes away my ability to fix simple problems, because of complications that are not necessary.

@HumBurner Can you tell me what Oregon bar mount is the 543. Don't see this listed in the local Sugihara charts either which usually also includes Carlton and Oregon references.

Agree, just goes to show they don't actually need At or MT when they can make the 585, and a lot of their lower powered saws and equipment are still straight carb too, probably prohibitively expensive to add At or MT to the smaller equipment. Echo doing even better with some of their saws not...

The 540 is autotune, not for me, and at 867.00 it is 247.00 more than the already expensive 543, I would rather have the Echo CS-4310 at 100.00 euro less than the 540 and no autotune to deal with, which means I can work on the carb and tune it myself.

Did they make another model to replace the 543. See them here for 620 delivered from Gernany. I suppose parts might not be easy to get now either, they use a smaller than normal oil cap.

As the title asks, is the 543 a worthwhile investment, I see them €200 cheaper than the Echo CS-4310, and very close in power. Are both saws strato.
