How much can you fell/buck/split/stack by hand in a day?

Explain to the younglings that they too will get to use the saws and stuff, but they need to be of sufficient size (and experience) to do so (this puts the blame squarely on time, rather than Dad's Trust). Compliment and praise when they do good. A Dad's Approval is not something that money...

How much can you fell/buck/split/stack by hand in a day?

I usually don't do it all up in one go. Mostly will 'go fishing' with the tractor and bring 5-10 logs to the landing. Logs may come from blowdowns or be stuff that I lay down. Depending on workload I'll buck it after skidding or wait until the next session. Bucking and quartering is next...

    John's Lawn & Garden

Any of the big three will serve you well. Find the dealer that will also and you have your 'brand'. I feel this is highly important for commercial users. Better if you can find two of them.

    Ethanol free gas...

I always put some high test in the truck before filling the PE cans. I don't have 16 minutes to watch...does she touch on how Hi test gasoline will stay fresh longer than 87? Something about the poly chains being more stable or whatever...I'm no petroleum engineer. lol

    Echo Top Handle Discussion

Old but new to me thread. A very solid local dealer was 'forced' out of Echo a couple years back. He's got the best 2T troubleshooter in town working in there. His father started the shop out of a side garage in the early 70s and Echo was their primary. The shop was moved into town in the...

Don't forget to clean those air-filters!

Probably every 4th or 5th tank. I clean it when I clean up the rest of the saw.

    Somebody Owes Me Some Money

They work excellent on Oregon chains for me. Their classic cuts well. The premiums let me get a better edge. Nicholson is all Mehico and ccp produced now. Not at all what they used to be in my opinion. Never did use their chain files, but used their flat files a good bit. Pretty sure Pferd...

Root Grapple vs. Root rake Grapple

Have never really used them in a mill yard setting, but the ones with seperate top arms can get out of phase with each other and become very annoying. I can't think of the brand now, but my boss bought an absolute unit of a root grapple. It's one of the ones with bucket teeth on the lower...
