What's a fair price for a cord of cherry?

Well that gets a :D. I have friends that don't think anything about this year's wood until the first frost hits. SMH To ask them to pay for it and sit on it till dry is a bridge too far I'm afraid. Personally I'm putting up 2029 wood at the moment. Beech and chestnut oak so far. I do have...

What's a fair price for a cord of cherry?

It would seem that many do not know that the wood isn't supposed to emit steam when in the stove. Or possibly do not care. I can understand that buyers get jaded after buying less than quality firewood but then they expect quality wood to be of same price as the rest. I now have 3 year...

What's a fair price for a cord of cherry?

Some fool here would sell it for $110. Why I don't get excited to sell firewood. Dunno if there are a bunch of double dippers or if the people really value their labor this low?

    8 pin .325

Only needed first two pages. Printing documents keeps paper mills busy > forestry > chainsaw users. 'Clean' environment does no good if you are destitute due to.

Metal 5 gal fuel cans. Good brand?

I don't care for them and seek out old plastic jugs on fleabay. The one style requires a snap on pour spout, the other has a built in spout that makes the can take up space of 1-1/2 cans.

    Honda GX100 question

If oil seal is still supple it'll be fine. Don't get any crud in there. Can use Hondabond or equivilent to reseal the case.

Metal 5 gal fuel cans. Good brand?

Eagle/Justrite is the last standing US manufacturer of metal cans I think. I tried the Euro Jerry a while back. It sealed so tight it was an issue with temperature swings or being in direct sunlight for very long.

What octane is best, and why

I get 93 for power equipment and buggy. Read somewhere about Premium having a bit longer life before the carbon chains start breaking down....going stale. I don't notice any performance difference between 87 & 93 on stock saws.

    Battery Chargers

Purchased a new 30 horse Kubota in 2003. It had a Jap lead/acid battery in it. I finally was forced to change it two years ago as she wouldn't crank under freezing temps anymore. Would still crank over fine in summer but I use it in winter too and jumping it was a PITA.

    Battery Chargers

Had a 06 Toyo with a 'Truestart' 27f that came in it. Got 9 years out of a flooded battery. The replacement was also a Truestart that was ~$130 in 2015 and was in the truck still when I sent it in 2021. Had a couple amps and a woofer in that one too.

    Firewood saw

Depends on specific target. 50cc for limbing/branch wood bucking & trail maintenance. 60 or 70 for log bucking or noodling. 80 for big wood. I'm in the woods farting around with something every weekend that weather allows. The 50cc goes with me more often than the others.

    Tachometer

One of the 'neater' tools that I've had the pleasure of using. Set many a portable generator's running speed with one. Turn the screw till it vibrates at 60hz, good to go.
