    Builder Review Mastermind Work Saws

Bought a 261cm from Randy saw runs great. Haven't been able to use it to much because of pesky shoulder surgery. Before surgery I cut a few small oaks and bucked them for firewood. This past Friday had 2 large pine trees dropped and I bucked about the last 30' on each of them. Saw did great and...

    Saw questions

@Fruecrue yep dull anything sucks! I was hoping we wouldn't get a hurricane before the saw arrives for clean up but looks like the rain could be much more of a problem! These storms that sit just offshore and continue to fuel up have gotten old!

    Saw questions

Well I jumped off the deep end and ordered a MS261 C-M saw from @Mastermind. I'm still not convinced about the longevity of the m-tronic but time will tell. Thanks for everyone's input. I considered and looked into a lot of the suggestions here before making a decision.

    Saw questions

@Dub11 I plan on calling him to tomorrow just to see what my options are on his end. @countryhog For a larger saw in the future that is probably the way I'd go. Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes the abuse of swinging a maul to split wood. I don't need to split much for the year unlike...

    Saw questions

Not afraid of of Mtronic necessarily but I am afraid of what the EPA has made them do to it hahaha... I've dealt with enough EPA garbage on everything from diesel trucks, outboards, and small engines to know that stuff causes problems even on things that are "worked out". I just dont like the no...

    Saw questions

The local HD doesnt have one there plus with a 5 year warranty on that saw I would want a dealer in the area for anything that comes up. If none of these shops stock the saws then I'm betting they dont see to many come thru. The 590 seems like a decent saw just no support here it seems.

    Saw questions

I looked into a Echo 590 but none of the Echo dealers in town even stock Echo chainsaws. I have a couple of more places to look but that may be a sign also. At the moment I'm leaning toward a MS 261 without the Mtronic. At least you can adjust the carb as needed. With all of the EPA regs it...

    Saw questions

Thanks for all of the input guys. This gave me a few more saws to look at. Visiting with the local dealers is on my to do list. What about the bearing issues some of these saws have had? Anyone know if Stihl or Husky has updated the bearings/design to eliminate this problem?

    Saw questions

I only have a handful pines over 25" and that beech tree. My firewood can get to around 20" anything larger than that and I have trouble getting it home. There's 2 Husky dealers and 4 Stihl dealers that work on saws locally.

    Saw questions

Hey guys first post here. I'm in need of a saw and have been reading for a while on and off weighing my options. I had a Stihl 010 that was going to be rebuilt since it was my grandfathers but tropical storm Harvey took that unfortunately and I've finally gotten to the point I need another saw...
