They have two types of coils. Some flywheels have two keyways that alow it to be used with both type ignitions. The keyways are not close to one another.
A friend had a bad garage fire started by a newer Mercedes. He had a new ms461 in there, the only thing really left of it was the crankshaft. Same for a push mower. The front alloy wheels were mostly gone.
That green mesh filter is one step above no filter. Maybe better with panty hose wrap. The blue foam insert in for spitback, does nothing for filtering.
Not a vent. It's plugged port used to connect oil passage to bar pad. You can plug it but don't go too deep or you will block to passage to the bar pad.
Even with no fuel filter, 10 tanks?
If not from fuel or your can only thing else is someone is getting alot of dirt in there when the cap is removed or the tank vent filter not there.
How about the basics before jumping to the moon. Air and fuel filters clean? Spark screen? Screen in carb? Don't know how much use it has on it and if it sat long with fuel in it.
