I drained the fuel tank yesterday at home. It find have pressure behind the fuel cap Wednesday while it was sitting. The 461 also had pressure behind it, but it didn't seem to effect the saw.

I did leave the 7900 sitting out for two hours after the initial surging problem and it still did the same thing. If it was vapor lock would it go away after sitting for a while?

Our VentMaster 575xp have the standard husky high top filter, one outer spike, 404 sprocket , solid nose/solid bar 20" and full wrap handle. Some of the saws still have the aluminum case/muffler guard. If it still has the VentMaster carbide chain, that is worth 275.00 by itself.
