    Simington practice

Adjust the swingarm down. That will get you out of the tie-strap then get your side plate closer to vertical. Corner looks just right though

Nice! Sounds like it will be set up West coast style. Should work well for milling. This is the full wrap I was talking about. I've only seen them on 084's, not sure if they would retrofit to the 880. I would imagine they would sell really well though...

Have you heard anything about wrap handles? Would be cool to get a wrap handle and a large clutch cover. Full wrap bars would be even cooler.

Simington / Silvey Square Chain Grinders Tips/Tricks/Secrets

Simington used to sell an attachment for grinding rakers. Not sure if they are still available, but it looks like it could be adjusted to grind gullets. Here is some literature that shows the attachment (fig 2): Here is the thread I got that from...

Simington / Silvey Square Chain Grinders Tips/Tricks/Secrets

If I get a wheel dirty enough to burn a cutter I'll spray it off with brake cleaner. I was able to grind a 42" chain with one dressing that way.

Simington / Silvey Square Chain Grinders Tips/Tricks/Secrets

Skeans is right, it's worth it to sharpen right off the roll. Just getting a crisp corner with a smooth finish will really help with Oregon chain. I was wondering if Oregon starts new guys on the square grinder first. Or maybe they only make it on Friday afternoons lol

That makes sense. Should be no problem to reuse that gasket. You can always pressure test after assembly to be sure.

    Stihl 056 Piston

If you want to set squish just figure out what gasket thickness you need. Otherwise you can do any of the options you mentioned. Reuse the old gasket, buy an aftermarket (never heard of proline but I have no problems using aftermarket gaskets). As far as sealant goes they would both work...

Definitely, I'm real happy with it. I'd recommend anyone with a 450 to check out the mod Shaun has.

Dress with the wheel turning clockwise when viewed from above. This keeps the dresser in tension and reduces chatter. Also dress from the working corner out. Not the end all be all, just how I was told to do it.

    How to square file

I like to pull down on the chain to keep it tight against the pawl, works pretty well to keep the cutter stable. The problem I've had is when I'm really hogging material the cutter heel can lift and change the grind. To avoid that I just grind in two passes. A better hold down for the...
