I dunno if you can get them over there but there is this Bulgarian manufacturer named Badesnost which makes pretty nice but cheap hydraulic log splitter valves. Lot of bang for bucks, over here the normal version costs about $ 100,- and the high speed one does around $ 150,- Normal version...

Yeah in the mean time I found another supplier, a car parts company with lower shipping costs than the German supplier and no minimum order amount (Germans asked € 50,- MOQ). EDIT: Got a few HD2 filters too, unused. Came cheaper here than they were in the US so got myself a couple to help...

That's just shipping. The price for the filter depends a bit on how many I can order, because if I have to include the shipping to here for just one filter they get a bit pricey. EDIT: just PM me and we can discuss things further if you want a couple.

Here's an example of the HD filter by Karl Küfner GmbH in Germany. It was supposed to be oiled like K&N filters. The company still supplies pickup filters to STIHL. I am not sure who produces the current HD2 filter for STIHL, although I do know the filtering medium was specifically designed...

STIHL went through a couple of designs for the HD filter stuff before they came up with the HD2, some of them indeed had stamped metal bodies. For applications like leafblowers they still do that. In fact, those are made by Knecht (Mahle) in Austria:

I could probably get them. I found a supplier for them in Germany. Shipping from here to you would be around $ 20,-

The part number for this green (summer) mesh filter is 0000-120-1653, but I guess they will be hard to find. However, excellent reproduction filters of this type (with a foam inner piece) are available, just search on that part number and you'll find them.

Mahle (Knecht) makes a replacement filter for the HD2 filter. I haven't got my hands on one and they seem to be very rare, but their vehicle filters are very good so I'm very curious how they perform in the field: I don't think they can be washed like the original though.

Ok thanks for pointing that out, interesting saw nontheless. Probably has to do with the expiring of some Husky patents they can finally design it like this. I'll keep an eye out for any new patents related to the 881. I did notice lately they have been applying some patents which use a 084-ish...

The clamp is made by https://mpcindustries.com It is a t-bolt type but with a combo head screw, DIN 3017 compliant. Marked: "MPC 35 W2" I can give you some pictures if you want.
