I have my splitter by my OWB and the wood gets split and thrown in a pile right in front of the burner. Don’t want to have to carry it too far.

Not sure about what stove but if I had a draft that would almost put a lighter out I would be fixing that regardless of what I went with.

Guess I thought I would update this post. It used around 13-15 cords. This year we are just going to use the geothermal as our primary and see how that goes.

It has its pros and cons. I need to take a box blade to it right now and if we get a few inches of snow you don’t get up it without 4 wheel drive (steep in some areas). But, it winds through the hills and woods and we love the views from it and where our house sits on the hill.

There was some but nothing too crazy. I was able to salvage most of the tree but there was a little of it lost. I am glad to have it gone.

Well I probably should of saved my money. The splitter works great but I have only used it a couple times and have been splitting by hand mostly. I like having it but i like swinging things to break other things so.... I told my wife this the other day and she just shook her head.

Do you like the maul or splitting axe better? I guess I never used a splitting axe and have been using a 8 pound maul. It takes a good bit of energy but when it hits.... I don’t use a handheld for all of my splitting but I make sure to do some because it keeps me healthy, mostly mentally. Lol.
