I think what you're seeing is one kit and one fully assembled power-head.

Husky 394 carb bolts don't exist?

For reference, the standard M5 is nearly indistinguishable from #10-32. 5mm=.196 in., #10 = .190 in. The pitch of an M5 is .8mm, which = .031496, the pitch of a #10-32 = .03125. The difference is so small as to be insignificant. Much easier to find a #10-32 than an M5 (in the U.S., anyway).

Cross Performance 660 top end failure

Now you've got me worried. How, exactly, does one chamfer the ports? I have a right-angle die grinder, but it's too big to fit inside the cylinder. I also have a Rout-a-Burr, but I'm worried it would chip the Nik-a-sil. Please explain.

    What is this funk?

I wouldn't expect it to be pitted, the mag protected the steel.

    What is this funk?

On the nosie. The mag acts as a sacrificial anode. It corrodes, while protecting the steel. It's the same principal as galvanizing, the steel is protected from rusting, even when the zinc coating is breached. Large zinc posts are placed in the water around ships in mothball storage, with a wire...

Surely I'm not the only one. Love my G5300, strong runner, starts reliably with no fumbling or fussing. My only complaint is that it puts out bar oil whether it's running or not.

    Stihl 009L

My 009L barely puts out any oil at all. The shop I bought it from "fixed" it twice with no change. Any suggestions for me?

    Show off your splitter

I'm 65, the splitter is not the bottleneck in this operation. And remember, this is a $300, 5-ton unit. If speed is important, there is no hydraulic faster than the kinetic splitters, which are available with electric motors.

    Show off your splitter

While the physics of electric motors compared to internal combustion engines show that electric is a much more efficient conversion of energy, that's not really why. I prefer electric motors because they always start after a long winter, they are quieter, they produce no fumes, they require...

    Show off your splitter

If it can be done with electricity, that's how I'm going to do it. The fewer gas burners, the better I like it.
