    Im gonna tear down soon, but by looking in the port its pretty trashed. Id like to keep it oem, (the cylinder at least). I dont mind a meteor piston, but im afraid i may need a good used jug.     Just aquired a 064 that has a bad top end. Saw otherwise is in good shape. I read you can put an 066 top end on. Kinda curious as ive never had a 64 or 66, if its worth putting he bigger top end on? Is there modifications that hafta be done? Personally im kinda leaning towards just going back...

    Quick question, sagenspezi has a ignition plate, that specifies suitable for electronic bosch ignitions on 045's 056's. Would that work? Has anyone delt with this outfit or this particular part?

    So really goin to an 041 ignition plate and flywheel, then using a nova chip to convert the points seems to be the most cost effective. The SEM modules are prone to failure also arent they?

    I tore the saw back down this morning and tried everything i can think of. I have a dead coil. So question is should i convert to sem or back to points as the used crank i had has the points lobe ground on it?

    Just totally rebuilt an 056 mag. Got as non running, had a bad crank. Got all back together now have no spark. It has the bosch ignition setup. Question is the ignition plate is slotted for adjustment, is it possible it could just be out of whack there? I set the plate center of the slots.

    Well i spent some time trying to get the carb set today. It was super rich so i leaned it out some. It was about 12k still to heavy but out of nowhere came another 1,000 rpm with no screw turning. It really started singing. So im confident i have an air leak also. So its on the list to get tore...

    Another hint, when hot it would idle just fine but under WOT, load or no load it would act up. I guess it could possibly been the loose connections under WOT would vibrate enough to get intermittent pulse.
