    Anybody circle-saw milling?

They make excellent interior lumber. And pay about .30/bdft. And the bdft add up quickly with Cottonwood! I like cutting them from time to time.

    Anybody circle-saw milling?

I’m really not interested in that - I like the swing blade portable mills of today for their space saving design, and maneuverability. The Turbo mill looks better to me than the Lucas, just for ease of setup and use. But I’m still just dreaming.

The forestry and logging pictures thread

Here’s a good view of where I’m working: 2 more Black Walnut trees (18” DBH/ea) over looking the valley below with the South Fork running along, my log landing and pickup, and cattle at the hay wagons in the way back. For some perspective, the hills here are roughly 400’ in elevation. Some are...

The forestry and logging pictures thread

Close! It’s roughly 18” DBH, so a bit more bd ft.. IIRC there isn’t any cat face or bird peck on this one either. Should bring some good $$ next week.

Those are Flitch Savers - they are plastic and the mill can saw right through them. I throw a couple in the butt’s of the high grade logs when the weather breaks above freezing.
